5 pound mill.

Post by Pyro-Gear »

I am currently working on a new 5-pound mill, the jars have been custom made for myself.
So far the setup is 3 drive rollers but I may be looking at driving all the rollers, a lot depends on the motor capability but to be honest I think it will work fine and if it doesn’t I have a twin drive option in the pipeline just in case!

Good luck. Can’t wait to hear more. Ran the new mill yesterday for some upcoming tests.

It works just great and stacks of power to boot, the mill should take on a rebel at a third of the price!

Neat!

But I'm still convinced it would run on a single motor.

I expect it would but the plan was to make the mill so that it could cope with a 6-inch jar as well as the 4 inch, Lloyds jar fits straight on the mill.

OK - I wasn't aware of that. In that case, I'll withdraw my comment!

Be sure to share your impression Sambo. I like my little mill so much I loaned out my modified Rebel going on 2 years ago now and haven’t missed it. I still have a stock Rebel that hasn’t been touched since the little one arrived either.

700 grams seems to be the sweet spot for the mill, it’s got around 26 hrs on it now no problems at all so I think it’s good to go.
