Florida Pyrotechnic Arts Guild show for sick kids

Post by Lloyd »

Saturday, I had the distinct pleasure of being part of an FPAG shoot for the terminally-ill children at Camp Boggy Creek, near Paisley, Florida. It was established by the late Paul Newman, and grows every year.

Each week, they bring in children in groups, with a different ailment each week -- and at no cost to the families! All the kids there this week were cancer victims. We had an audience of 162 children, plus their MANY camp counselors and parents. They fed us like kings, and attended to our every need during the setup.

It was a wonderful experience to hear their cheers as effects went up. It was a one-hour show, with set pieces (lots, not just what my post shows), and thousands (really!) of shells.
