Thanks, Ken. I'll do my best.

The day started as usual, with Gus (the cat) sitting on my lap, deafening me with his purr, and using my hand as a convenient nose-wipe. Lovely!

Later, if it doesn't rain, I'll fire off the last samples that use the old thermocouples and then set about upgrading (in terms of gain, downgrading) my amplifier to match the new ones.

Tonight, according to tradition, my son will cook dinner. I've no idea what it will be.

Life can't get better than that!

P.S. ...and thanks to the wonderful forum software for letting the world know just how old I am!

Dr who was in black and white, plus a manual focus on the back of the TV.

That's very tempting, Ben.

The day went much as planned, and the dinner was delicious!

I'm now set up to use the new thermocouples, which seem to behave exactly as expected. I've just got to decide which composition to start with...

Yikes, I'm a bit late! Happy B-day Richard. Hope ya have many more filled with exciting things ( especially pyro ).

I must not be to far behind. When I was growing up the manual adjustments had moved to the front of the TV, lol.

Dr Who hadn't even been thought of ... and we didn't have a TV until I was 5 or 6: with just one fuzzy channel
