Anybody got any good formulas for lampblack stars.

Sorry if this seems to be a bit of a cop-out, but I think your best bet is to take a look in these documents. I found them all available online, free - but you might have to do a bit of Googling for that. ;-) They will prove to be interesting and handy to have anyway.
Weingart - Dictionary and Manual of Fireworks
Lancaster - Fireworks Principles and Practice
Shimizu - Fireworks, the Art, Science and Technique
Wouter-Visser - Practical-Pyrotechnics
The above all include compositions for stars, along with other info.
Other useful references:
The_Best_of_AFN_II
The_Best of AFN_III
When you find them, just do a search for 'lampblack', like I did!

Thanks Tyvole and PG will try both those PG just need some Gum Arabic.

Don’t worry about the Gum Arabic P resin works better and not acidic like gum Arabic that could and has caused sensitivity issues with chlorate, P resin is the way to go Starfire if you have it.
