Re: 15mm core burner
That's the first time I've seen one of our later crackle formulations fired in anger.
Ken has told me several times that it works well, but it's still a whole lot better than I was expecting. To get improved consistency, rolling a reasonably large batch looks like it's the way to go.

Even when I'm wrong, I'm convincing.
Re: 15mm core burner
Nice rockets Ken well done ,I don't know if this is a compliment but it was as good as the commercial stuff I saw this year.B
Re: 15mm core burner
Nice work Ken.
Re: 15mm core burner
Wow! Indistinguishable from Chinese crackling flowers! What were they primed with to give those bright gold sparks?
Re: 15mm core burner
The prime is nothing to do with it, the gold comes from the cupric oxide we used in the formulation{well we think) the prime used was a Spanish composition.
Re: 15mm core burner
That was great Ken, and I don't even like crackle that much!

Re: 15mm core burner
hmm... that's very unexpected. When can we expect the details of this miracle formula so we can try it for ourselves?Pyro-Gear wrote:The prime is nothing to do with it, the gold comes from the cupric oxide we used in the formulation{well we think) the prime used was a Spanish composition.
Re: 15mm core burner
One factory has tested them and yeah they worked fine but on the negative side they said they were not as loud as lead based compositions but they were amazed on how well they lit.Tyvole wrote:That was great Ken, and I don't even like crackle that much!
Regarding the loudness we now know where they went wrong, so out of all the tests I did on PVB colours and crackle what did all the kids rave about? Bloody Helicopters cheers buddy you made a lot kids very excited.

The formula has been released however the preparation has not.matt_t wrote:hmm... that's very unexpected. The technique on the manufacture involves a series of steps that will be made available very soon.

Those helicopters make me excited as well,so I must be a kid at heart still.if you can still get them Ken could you PM me with a price .Thanks B
Re: 15mm core burner
Biff the helicopters were a donation to the forum ages ago, we used up the originals but manufactured replicas using the tooling I sell, they work well when you get your head around it.
Re: 15mm core burner
Ok mate I've got that one ,musnt be so lazy and have ago at perfecting them. Thanks B
