Lead bullet round like media mill
Hello , i have mill pyro gear and I want use lead round balls with diameter 0,454 inch: it is rounds balls for muzzle loader,it is for my black powder pistol 1858 replica, I don’t know if this is un hardened lead, do you think I can use this lead balls? Thanks

Sure, you can use musket balls... but that's a pretty expensive form of lead media! You'd be better off buying or making a mold, and casting your own from discarded wheel weights, and plumbing flashing scraps. (But, perhaps the musket balls are all you can obtain.)
IF you charge the mill correctly, even fairly soft lead will hold up reasonably-well, and will leave little lead in your BP. The correct charge is 50% full of media (the lead balls), and 25% of the original EMPTY volume in material to be ground.
I wouldn't use lead for milling anything except BP for that 'contamination' reason. For other straight chemicals (NOT explosive mixtures), I use ceramic or SS media.
