I'm faced with an issue where I need to custom-cut some die-cut paper materials in very specific shapes. It's not something I'd even venture to do by hand, and the quantities are small, but WAY beyond what a manual process could produce.
I got a clue from a friend on FW.com that 'full-custom' paper cutting dies are quite inexpensive. I never knew. In fact, I didn't even know the name of the blades they cut them with ("steel rule" stock, FWIW).
I did a very trivial search, and found a company in Jacksonville, FL (only 80 mi. or ONE shipping day away) that can make and sell such a cutting die for about 1/5 the cost I could make it IF I already had all the materials in stock!
