I will let this plug for fire working go, however you pay your money and take your choice.
American forums are very good and if people want to migrate to that forum then fine, but your post is of little help for the UK side of things is it.

It is shame they have vanished there was some very useful information on there, however, the forum admin that consisted of 3 people just let it go, in my humble opinion the money was no longer there to support the hobby Cheers, Phil.

Re: Air Float charcoal in the USA
I hope you can break into the market Brad there clearly will be a call for the product, I prosses around 150 kilos a year for the UK market and I can tell you it’s a thankless task. Regarding the Visco restraints on export came in late 2019 so stocks are depleting. Now building a Visco machine is pr...

That’s bad news for large-scale manufacturers Lloyd.
Just another blow to the hobby is Visco is no longer being exported from china so what’s left in Europe is the last!

Nitro Paris is pretty good, however, they will not entertain small orders you would need to spend at least 1K and even then they could refuse.

Using a smart meter to calculate the power consumption on the mills with the new motor it works out at less than 1pence an hour now you can’t complain at that!

A similar thing happened to me 2 weeks back, I had to part off a bunch of rollers for the mills that are going out to the USA, starting up the lathe I got a strange sound almost like a feed screw was tight, also the RPM was up and down below 900rpm, thinking it was an issue with the gear set and fee...

Re: The Pyro Gear mill.
Lloyd, sure the power supply is 1 amp but the draw from the power supply is only half the output, the old motor dose not draw a full amp more like 5 watts , these are switching power supplies so not happy when overloaded, the new motors require 4 amp power supplies.

Some news for you guys I have after a long run of talks a new motor for the mill, we now have a 10-watt motor pure copper windings on the armature, motor output shaft bearing increased by 50%, a reduction in motor noise is evident and also running temperature is down on the new motor, so far I am ve...

Re: 1/4" BP rockets
Very good video James be good to see the rockets flying, that tooling I remember making it. One observation, drop the rubber mallet you just don’t get the feedback from them try a wooden one or just a length of 2X2 will work fine, I suspect the tube crumple is due to this. But good work and good pre...

James. There were two types of tooling made, one was all stainless and the other brass on an aluminum base. However, the only difference is the brass set had a longer delay charge. The best method for BP is to mill the nitrate for around 1hr then add the other components and mill for a further 20 mi...

:D Not sure what tooling you have James but I know that if you have the Oliver Brown set that I developed years back you could lift a 1inch ball shell no problems, that’s using 5mm stars rolled or cut. Here is a test sent to me years back you might find interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D...

Phenol-formaldehyde resin bar stock worked pretty good for nozzles AKA Bakelite, if made right the motors have a long duration and nozzle erosion is a big issue so I would not recommend a clay nozzle that’s if you are trying it.

Many moons ago I did some work with RNX it’s a tricky subject but the biggest problem was the nozzles and the time spent making them!
